The standard engine on the BMW X5 is a 3.0L turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine that offers 335 horsepower. An optional 3.0L turbocharged inline 6-cylinder engine is also available with the BMW X3. This engine provides 385 horsepower. The BMW X5 offers two alternative engines – a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 456 horsepower or a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with 523 horsepower.
